360 CHICAGO
Observation Deck · Chicago, Illinois
The observation deck on the ninety-fourth floor of 875 North Michigan Avenue, the cross-braced black tower that everyone still calls the John Hancock Center. It is a thousand and thirty feet up at the top of the Magnificent Mile, and because it stands well north of the Loop it gives the view Willis Tower cannot — the whole downtown skyline seen side-on with the lake beside it. Its gimmick is TILT, a bank of windows that leans you out over the avenue.
