Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum
History Museum · Springfield, Illinois
The most-visited presidential museum in the United States, opened in Springfield in 2005 and run by the State of Illinois rather than the National Archives, which makes it unlike every other presidential library in the country. It tells Lincoln's life through full-scale immersive sets and theatrical staging rather than vitrines of documents, and its research library across the street holds one of the largest Lincoln collections anywhere.
212 North Sixth Street, Springfield, Illinois, 62701, United States
Generally daily 9 AM - 5 PM. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Library across the street has separate hours.
