Adams National Historical Park
National Historical Park · Quincy, Massachusetts
Two plain saltbox farmhouses standing seventy-five feet apart in Quincy, in which John Adams was born in 1735 and John Quincy Adams in 1767 — the oldest presidential birthplaces in the United States, and the only place where a president and his presidential son were born next door to each other. A mile away is Peacefield, the house four generations of the family lived in, and beside it the Stone Library, built in 1873 to hold fourteen thousand of their books and effectively the first presidential library.
