Adirondack Experience

Open Air Museum · Blue Mountain Lake, New York

The museum of the Adirondacks, on a hillside above Blue Mountain Lake since 1957 — a campus of more than twenty buildings across 121 acres holding boats, guideboats, logging equipment, rustic furniture and the material culture of a landscape where people have always both worked and holidayed. Formerly the Adirondack Museum, it renamed and rebuilt its main exhibition in 2017 around the question of what wilderness actually is.
