Alaska SeaLife Center
Nonprofit Aquarium And Marine Research And Rescue Centre · Seward, Alaska
Alaska's only public aquarium and permanent marine mammal rescue centre, on Resurrection Bay at the end of the Seward Highway, opened in 1998 with help from the Exxon Valdez oil spill settlement. Visitors watch Steller sea lions, harbor seals and diving seabirds, including puffins, through large underwater windows, see giant Pacific octopus and other cold-water sea life, and touch creatures in a tide pool. Behind the scenes, staff rescue and rehabilitate stranded animals such as orphaned sea otter pups and research the ocean around Alaska. In 2026 tickets used timed entry windows with dynamic plan-ahead pricing, starting at about $32 plus tax for adults, and the centre opened 9 AM-7 PM in summer. It pairs naturally with a Kenai Fjords boat tour from Seward harbour.
