Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park
Florida State Park · Tallahassee, Florida
An ornamental garden laid out from 1923 around a winter home in Tallahassee, planted specifically so that it would peak in the months its owners were in residence — which is why it flowers hardest in January, February and March, when most of the country has nothing. More than two hundred camellia varieties and a hillside of azaleas run down to Lake Hall through a brick walkway and a reflecting pool.
3540 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee, Florida, 32309, United States
Park open 8:00 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year. The gardens open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and charge a separate admission, higher during peak bloom season.
