Alyeska Resort

Ski Resort On Mount Alyeska · Girdwood, Alaska

Alaska's largest ski resort, on the slopes of Mount Alyeska above the mountain town of Girdwood, about 40 miles south of Anchorage along Turnagain Arm, with skiing since 1959. Its trails drop almost to sea level with views across Turnagain Arm, and deep coastal snowfall makes it a powder destination. The aerial tram climbs to a mountaintop station at about 2,300 feet with the Seven Glaciers restaurant and views of seven hanging glaciers. The Hotel Alyeska sits at the base, and the Alyeska Nordic Spa offers outdoor hot pools, saunas and cold plunges. In summer, hikers climb the North Face Trail, walk rainforest paths such as Winner Creek, and ride the tram. In 2026 tram tickets cost $55 at the gate or $50 online for adults, and summer tickets included two round-trip rides.
