Amelia Island
Old Town · Fernandina Beach, Florida
Thirteen miles of barrier island at the very top of Florida, with a fifty-block Victorian district at Fernandina Beach that survived because the town stopped growing in 1900 and never started again. It is the only place in the United States to have flown eight different flags, and the modern American shrimping industry began in its harbour.
22 South 3rd Street, Fernandina Beach, Florida, 32034, United States
A public town, open always. Shops keep daytime hours; restaurants and the Palace run into the evening.
