Amon Carter Museum of American Art

Art Museum · Fort Worth, Texas

A Philip Johnson building in the Fort Worth Cultural District, opened in 1961 to house Amon Carter's collection of Frederic Remington and Charles M. It has grown into one of the country's premier collections of American art, from Hudson River School landscapes to early modernism and a major photography holding, and admission has always been free to everything, including special exhibitions.
