Arizona Snowbowl

Ski Area On Coconino National Forest Land · Flagstaff, Arizona

A ski area on the western slopes of the San Francisco Peaks north of Flagstaff, in Coconino National Forest, with skiing since the 1930s and a top elevation near 11,500 feet. In winter it offers terrain for all levels and some of the most reliable snow in Arizona. In summer the scenic gondola climbs from about 9,500 to 11,500 feet on Agassiz Peak in about ten minutes, with views that can reach the Grand Canyon on clear days. The Peaks are sacred to many tribes, including the Hopi, Navajo, Havasupai, Hualapai and Zuni, and the resort's snowmaking with reclaimed wastewater has been opposed by tribes and argued in court for years. Summer 2026 operations began on Mother's Day weekend, with daily rides from 15 May and dynamic gondola prices.
