Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts
Arkansas'S Principal Art Museum, In MacArthur Park, Little Rock. Founded In 1937 And Reopened In 2023 After A Complete Rebuilding By Studio Gang, With A Collection Strongest In Works On Paper. · Little Rock, Arkansas
The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts is the state's main art museum and it reopened in 2023 after being taken apart and rebuilt around its 1937 core by Studio Gang, with a pleated roof and glass walls that open it onto MacArthur Park. The collection's real strength is works on paper - drawings in particular, built up over decades into one of the better collections of its kind in the region - alongside American and European painting, contemporary craft and a serious children's theatre programme. Entry to the permanent collection is free. For Spottos it is a city art museum, which puts it in tier 3 by the house rule, but it is the best hour of indoor culture in Little Rock.
