Ashtabula County Covered Bridges
Historic Route · Jefferson, Ohio
Nineteen covered bridges scattered across the farm roads and river gorges of Ohio's northeastern corner, more than any other county in the state, and unusual in that the county never stopped building them. The longest covered bridge in the United States was finished here in 2008 and the shortest three years later, both to nineteenth-century principles and both carrying real traffic.
State Route 193, Jefferson, Ohio, 44047, United States
Public roads, open and free year-round. The Covered Bridge Festival is the second full weekend of October. Winter lake-effect snow can make the back roads difficult.
