Avenue of the Giants

Scenic Highway · Weott, California

Thirty-one miles of the old highway running through Humboldt Redwoods State Park, parallel to US 101 and completely unlike it — a two-lane road threading between coast redwoods that were standing before the Roman Empire. The park holds Rockefeller Forest, the largest remaining contiguous old-growth redwood forest on earth.
