Babcock State Park
State Park · Clifftop, West Virginia
Four thousand acres of the Sewell Mountain plateau above the New River Gorge, best known for the Glade Creek Grist Mill — a working mill assembled in 1976 from the salvaged parts of three others, standing where Cooper's Mill stood until the 1920s. It is the most photographed structure in West Virginia, and the creek gorges behind it carry good trails that almost nobody walks.
WV Route 41, Clifftop, West Virginia, 25831, United States
Park open daily, dawn to dusk, year round. The grist mill is open and grinding on a seasonal schedule, generally spring through autumn, but the building and the view are there at any time. Free entry and free parking.
