Bandon

Beach Town · Bandon, Oregon

A small town at the mouth of the Coquille River on the southern Oregon coast, with a beach full of sea stacks that is among the most photographed stretches of shoreline in the state. Face Rock, Cathedral Rock and Elephant Rock stand offshore and are walkable among at low tide. The Old Town was rebuilt after a fire destroyed the whole place in 1936, and the town has since become better known internationally for links golf built on the dunes north of it than for anything else.

Bandon Avenue Southwest, Bandon, Oregon, 97411, United States

The beach and the viewpoints are FREE and open at all times - all Oregon beaches are public to the high tide line by state law, and parking at Face Rock and the beach accesses is free. Old Town shops and restaurants keep their own hours and several close midweek in winter. ⚠ THE SEA STACKS ARE ONLY WALKABLE AMONG AT LOW TIDE; at high water the beach at the stacks narrows to almost nothing. Landing on the offshore rocks is prohibited - they are part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge. Bandon Dunes Golf Resort north of town is a separate business and fills the town's lodging in season.
