Battleship Cove
National Historic Landmark · Fall River, Massachusetts
Five warships tied up together on the Taunton River at Fall River, forming the largest collection of preserved World War Two naval vessels anywhere in the world. The centrepiece is USS Massachusetts, a thirty-five-thousand-ton battleship you can walk through over six decks, and beside her sit a destroyer named for John F. Kennedy's elder brother, a submarine, two PT boats and — improbably — an East German missile corvette. You can also book a bunk and sleep aboard.
