Battleship USS Iowa Museum

Historic Site · San Pedro, California

The lead ship of the last class of battleships the United States built, commissioned in 1943 and now moored at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro. She carried Franklin Roosevelt to the Tehran Conference — a bathtub was installed for him, the only one ever fitted to a US warship — and served from the Pacific through to the first Gulf War.
