Beaver Lake State Park
Subnational Park · Wishek, North Dakota
Two hundred and seventy-three acres on the western shore of Beaver Lake in Logan County, roughly equidistant from Napoleon and Wishek, and the smallest and quietest park in the North Dakota system. There is a swimming beach, a boat ramp, a campground and some cabins on a glacial prairie lake in the middle of the state, and almost nothing else - which is the whole appeal. It is the park North Dakotans go to when they want a lake to themselves.
3850 70th Street SE, Wishek, North Dakota, 58495, United States
Open year round with a per-vehicle North Dakota state park entry fee, though the campground, cabins, swimming beach and boat ramp are seasonal and most facilities close outside the summer months. Camping and cabins are reservable through the state park system and the handful of cabins go early for summer weekends despite the park's remoteness. ⚠ THERE ARE ALMOST NO SERVICES AT THE PARK and the nearest shops are in Napoleon and Wishek, neither of them large - arrive with fuel, food and supplies.
