Bellagio

Casino Resort On The Las Vegas Strip; Home Of The Fountains Of Bellagio And The Bellagio Conservatory And Botanical Gardens · Las Vegas, Nevada

Bellagio is a casino resort on the west side of the Las Vegas Strip, opened in October 1998 and styled on a lakeside village on Lake Como in northern Italy. For most visitors it is not a hotel stay but a free show: an artificial lake of several acres fronts the Strip, and the Fountains of Bellagio throw water choreographed to music and light across it, on the usual pattern every half hour in the afternoon and every quarter hour in the evening. Inside, the Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is a glass-roofed hall re-planted with a new floral display several times a year, also free, and the lobby ceiling carries Fiori di Como, a canopy of hand-blown glass flowers by Dale Chihuly. The resort also holds a ticketed art gallery, a run of well-known restaurants, the Via Bellagio luxury shops, a large casino floor and the water theatre of O by Cirque du Soleil. It is operated by MGM Resorts, charges resort and parking fees like its neighbours, and stands at the busy corner of Flamingo Road and the Strip, across from Paris and next to Caesars Palace.

NO OPENING TIME HERE WAS CHECKED. The typical pattern: the resort, casino, lobby and Conservatory are open 24 hours a day, every day. The Fountains of Bellagio usually run from the afternoon (earlier on weekends) with a show every 30 minutes, then every 15 minutes from about 8 pm to midnight. The Gallery of Fine Art keeps daytime hours with a last entry before closing, restaurants keep their own hours, and O has dark nights each week. The traps that ruin a day: arriving at the Conservatory during its week-long change-over, walking over for a fountain show cancelled for wind, assuming O plays every night, and forgetting that shows and restaurants close for private events. Confirm current times before relying on them.
