Big Lagoon State Park

A bayside park on the sheltered water between the mainland and Perdido Key, built around salt marsh, pine flatwoods and an observation tower that looks across the lagoon to the Gulf Islands National Seashore beyond. It is a birding and camping park rather than a beach park, and it is the eastern trailhead of the Great Florida Birding Trail in this corner of the state.
