Big Talbot Island State Park

Florida State Park · Jacksonville, Florida

Home of Boneyard Beach, where the ocean has undercut a bluff of live oak and cedar and dropped whole trees onto the sand, leaving them bleached white and salt-cured across the tideline. It is the most photographed beach in northeast Florida and it is a genuinely strange place — a forest lying dead on a beach, slowly being sculpted by the surf.

12157 Heckscher Drive, Jacksonville, Florida, 32226, United States

Open 8:00 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year. Boneyard Beach is a half-mile walk from the car park and is best at low tide.
