Blackwater River State Park
Florida State Park · Holt, Florida
One of the purest sand-bottomed rivers in the world, running tea-coloured over brilliant white sandbars through longleaf pine forest in the western Panhandle. The contrast is the whole point — dark tannic water over pale sand — and floating it by tube, canoe or kayak on a summer afternoon is one of the defining Florida experiences.
7720 Deaton Bridge Road, Holt, Florida, 32564, United States
Open 8:00 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year. The park does not hire tubes or boats — use an outfitter outside the park.
