Boerne

Heritage District · Boerne, Texas

A German-founded Hill Country town half an hour north of San Antonio, settled in the 1850s by freethinking immigrants and still showing it in the limestone buildings along Hauptstrasse — which is the main street, and which the town has never renamed. Cibolo Creek runs behind it through a nature centre that locals fought to keep.

106 South Main Street, Boerne, Texas, 78006, United States

The town is free to walk and always open; shops and restaurants keep their own hours. ⚠ CIBOLO NATURE CENTER, on the creek behind the town, is the half most visitors miss — check its current access arrangements locally. Cascade Caverns and Cave Without a Name are nearby and separately ticketed. No individual attraction prices are stated here. Weekends bring San Antonio and Hauptstrasse fills.
