Boston Children's Museum

Childrens Museum · Boston, Massachusetts

Founded in 1913 and therefore the second-oldest children's museum in the world, on the Fort Point Channel in a converted wool warehouse with a forty-foot wooden milk bottle standing outside it. Its most unexpected holding is a two-storey silk merchant's house from Kyoto, dismantled and shipped over as a gift from the city of Kyoto in 1979 and rebuilt inside the building — an authentic machiya that children take their shoes off to walk into.

308 Congress Street, Boston, Massachusetts, 02210, United States
