Buffalo Trace Distillery

National Historic Landmark · Frankfort, Kentucky

A National Historic Landmark distillery on the Kentucky River at Frankfort that claims the longest continuous operation of any distillery in the United States, having stayed open through Prohibition on a federal permit to make medicinal whiskey. It is the source of Pappy Van Winkle, Blanton's, Eagle Rare, W. L. Weller and the E. H. Taylor range, which between them are the most sought-after American whiskeys in the world. The tours are free, which for a place of this reputation is genuinely unusual.

113 Great Buffalo Trace, Frankfort, Kentucky, 40601, United States

Open daily, generally 9 AM - 5 PM with reduced Sunday hours; closed on major holidays. Tours are free and run on a published daily schedule but capacity is limited and advance booking on the distillery website is effectively required.
