Burns Park

A Municipal Park Of Roughly 1,700 Acres In North Little Rock On The Arkansas River, Among The Largest Municipal Parks In The United States. · North Little Rock, Arkansas

Burns Park covers roughly seventeen hundred acres along the Arkansas River in North Little Rock, which makes it one of the largest municipal parks in the United States - bigger than most people's idea of a city park by an order of magnitude. Inside it are mountain bike and hiking trails through genuine woodland, a championship-standard disc golf course, ball fields, tennis courts, a campground, an amusement area for small children, boat ramps onto the river and a long stretch of the Arkansas River Trail. It is not a destination in the sense the rest of this list is; it is where central Arkansas actually spends its weekends, and at metro zoom that is exactly what the map needs.
