Caesars Superdome
Stadium · New Orleans, Louisiana
A domed stadium of about seventy-three thousand seats that has stood over downtown New Orleans since 1975 and is the most recognisable object on the skyline. It has hosted seven Super Bowls, more than any other single venue, along with five Final Fours and the Sugar Bowl every year. In late August 2005 it held roughly thirty thousand people who had nowhere else to go, lost part of its roof in the storm, and became the image the world saw of Hurricane Katrina. It reopened thirteen months later and the Saints won.
