Cane Creek State Park
Arkansas State Park On A 1,675 Acre Lake In South East Arkansas, At The Line Where The Mississippi Delta Meets The Gulf Coastal Plain Two Distinct Landscapes Meeting Inside One Park. · Star City, Arkansas
Cane Creek sits exactly on the line where the flat Mississippi Delta gives way to the rolling pine and hardwood of the Gulf Coastal Plain, and the park has both inside its boundary - cypress and tupelo standing in water at one end, upland woods at the other. The lake is sixteen hundred and seventy-five acres, shallow and full of standing timber, which makes it excellent for bass and paddling and poor for anything with a propeller in a hurry. A trail runs most of the way around it, about fifteen miles, which is a long loop for a park this quiet. It is the least-visited good lake in south-east Arkansas.
