Canton Flea Market

Flea Market · Canton, Mississippi

A juried arts and crafts market that takes over the courthouse square in Canton for one day in May and one day in October, drawing close to a thousand exhibitors and tens of thousands of visitors to a town of about ten thousand. The name is misleading — this is not a car-boot sale but a selected craft show that people plan their year around, and it has run since the 1960s. On the other three hundred and sixty-three days Canton is a quiet county seat with a handsome square that has appeared in several films.
