Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument

National Monument · Ashland, Oregon

A 113,000-acre monument in southern Oregon, managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). It is the first and only national monument established specifically to protect spectacular biological diversity. Situated where the Cascade Range, Klamath Mountains, and Siskiyou Mountains collide, it features an incredible mix of ecosystems, high-elevation alpine forests, oak woodlands, and Pilot Rock—a massive volcanic plug visible for miles.

11400 Washington Street, Ashland, Oregon, 97520, United States

FREE and open 24 hours a day, year round, with no entrance station and nothing to book. ⚠ ACCESS IS THE WHOLE CONSTRAINT: this is Bureau of Land Management country reached by unpaved and lightly maintained roads, MANY OF WHICH ARE SNOWED IN OR IMPASSABLY MUDDY FROM ABOUT NOVEMBER TO MAY. There is no visitor centre on the monument; the BLM office is in Medford. The Pacific Crest Trail crosses it, and Highway 66 east of Ashland is the one paved way in.
