A 121-room Tuscan castle in the hills above Calistoga, built over fourteen years by winemaker Dario Sattui using period methods, imported stone and hand-forged iron. It is not a replica of a specific castle but a composite of thirteenth-century Italian ones, complete with a drawbridge, a chapel, five towers and a torture chamber in the basement.
