The neighbourhood around Castro and Market in San Francisco, and the most historically significant LGBTQ district in the United States. Harvey Milk ran his camera shop at 575 Castro Street and was elected from here in 1977. The 1922 Castro Theatre anchors the corner, and the rainbow crossings at the intersection are permanent.
