Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine

Church · St. Augustine, Florida

The oldest Catholic parish in the United States, established in 1565 with the founding of the city itself, in a building begun in 1793 after the earlier churches burned. A fire gutted it in 1887 and the rebuilding added the campanile and the murals, and it was raised to a minor basilica in 1976.
