Chewacla State Park
Alabama State Park · Auburn, Alabama
Seven hundred acres immediately south of Auburn, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s around a stone dam and a small lake, with a waterfall below the dam that fills with students the moment the weather turns. Its wider reputation is for mountain biking — a volunteer-built network on the ridges that is among the better ones in the Southeast — and the park is used almost entirely by Auburn and the towns immediately around it.
124 Shell Toomer Parkway, Auburn, Alabama, 36830, United States
Open daily year round for a small day-use fee, generally 7 AM to sunset, with the campground and cabins open to registered guests around the clock. Mountain bike trails close after heavy rain — check the trail status before travelling with bikes.
