Chicago Architecture Center

Specialty Museum · Chicago, Illinois

The public face of the organisation that has been explaining Chicago's buildings since 1966, in a glass-fronted space on the river at Wacker and Michigan since 2018. Its centrepiece is the Chicago Model, a scale model of the city carrying over four thousand buildings, and its real product is the volunteer docents — the same people who narrate the river cruise, which leaves from the Riverwalk directly below.

111 East Wacker Drive, Chicago, Illinois, 60601, United States

Centre generally daily, roughly 10 AM - 5 PM. River cruise is a separate ticket departing the Riverwalk docks, seasonal roughly May to October, and sells out — book ahead.
