Chicago Board of Trade Building

Modern Architecture · Chicago, Illinois

The Art Deco tower that closes the south end of LaSalle Street, finished in 1930 and topped by a thirty-one-foot aluminium statue of Ceres, the Roman goddess of grain. She has no face, because the sculptor assumed no building would ever be tall enough to look down on her — an assumption that lasted about four decades.

141 West Jackson Boulevard, Chicago, Illinois, 60604, United States

A working office building. Lobby generally accessible on weekdays during business hours; exterior at any time. No trading floor access.
