Chicago Chinatown

Heritage District · Chicago, Illinois

The Chinese quarter that moved south to Cermak and Wentworth around 1912 after rents and hostility pushed it out of the Loop, and one of the very few Chinatowns in the United States that is still growing rather than shrinking. It runs from the ornamental gate over Wentworth Avenue to a riverside park with a pagoda pavilion, and it functions as a working neighbourhood first and a visitor attraction second.

South Wentworth Avenue at West Cermak Road, Chicago, Illinois, 60616, United States

A public neighbourhood, open at all times. Restaurants generally 10 AM - 10 PM; many kitchens close between services mid-afternoon.
