Circus World

National Historic Landmark · Baraboo, Wisconsin

The original winter quarters of the Ringling Brothers Circus, on the bank of the Baraboo River where the five brothers based the operation from 1884 until 1918. Ten of the twenty-five original Ringling buildings survive and the site was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1969. It is run today by the Wisconsin Historical Society and holds what it bills as the largest collection of restored circus wagons in the world, alongside a summer season of live performances under a big top.
