Clearwater Lake Provincial Park lies in northern Manitoba, a short drive north of The Pas on the wide Saskatchewan River delta, and is known for one of the clearest and coldest lakes in the province. The lake is deep and cold, fed by springs, and the water is so clear that rocks and fish can be seen many metres down (confirm the clarity figure). Limestone cliffs rise from parts of the shore, the Caribou River runs in and out of the lake through spruce forest, and wooden boardwalks and lookouts lead to quiet viewpoints. The park has a campground, a beach, a boat launch and cabins, and it is a favourite of anglers who come for lake trout, walleye and northern pike. Caribou, moose, black bears and many birds live in the surrounding boreal forest. The park is reached by a provincial road north of The Pas (confirm the number and distance), and visitors need a vehicle park pass and a fishing licence.

The park is open all year, but most services run from about mid May to early September. The campground, park office, boat launch, beach and any store keep seasonal hours and may be closed or unstaffed in spring and after Labour Day, so confirm times before driving. A vehicle park pass is needed in season. Winter use is limited, with some trails and the lake used for ice fishing, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing when conditions allow. The access road is usually open but can drift in storms, so check the Manitoba road report and call The Pas office first.
