Cleveland Museum of Natural History

Natural History · Cleveland, Ohio

A research museum in University Circle, reopened in 2024 after a complete rebuild, holding two objects most visitors arrive without knowing about: Balto, the sled dog that led the last leg of the 1925 serum run to Nome, and the fossil skull of Dunkleosteus, a giant armoured fish quarried out of the shale beneath Cleveland itself.

1 Wade Oval Drive, Cleveland, Ohio, 44106, United States

Open most days, generally 10:00 to 17:00, with some weekday closures — check before travelling. Reopened in 2024 after a full rebuild; older reviews describe a different museum.
