Cloudland Canyon State Park
Georgia State Park · Rising Fawn, Georgia
Three and a half thousand acres straddling a deep gorge cut into the western flank of Lookout Mountain in the far north-west corner of Georgia, where the state meets Alabama and Tennessee. Sitton Gulch drops around a thousand feet below the rim, and two waterfalls — Cherokee at about 60 feet and Hemlock at about 90 — sit at the bottom of roughly 600 steps. The Civilian Conservation Corps built the first facilities here in the 1930s. The West Rim Loop gives what is generally reckoned the best long view in Georgia.
122 Cloudland Canyon Park Road, Rising Fawn, Georgia, 30738, United States
Open daily year round, generally 7 AM to 10 PM, with a Georgia ParkPass required per vehicle. The visitor centre keeps shorter hours. There are two access points: the main rim car park, and a separate lower car park at Sitton Gulch giving a largely level approach to the waterfalls from below. Stairs and rim paths ice in winter.
