Coeur d'Alene
Resort Area · Coeur d'Alene, Idaho
A city of fifty-four thousand on the north shore of a twenty-five-mile lake, thirty miles east of Spokane and the resort town of the Idaho panhandle. National publications once called the lake the Lucerne of America, and the resort on the waterfront runs a world-record 3,300-foot floating boardwalk and a golf course whose fourteenth green floats on the water and is moved. Behind the downtown, Tubbs Hill runs out into the lake as public forest, and the city beach is a genuine sand beach in the middle of town.
Sherman Avenue, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, 83814, United States
The city, the waterfront, the floating boardwalk, City Park and Beach and Tubbs Hill are open at all times and are FREE. ⚠ THE SEASON IS THE SHAPE OF THE VISIT: lake cruises, boat hire and the beach lifeguards run roughly late May to September, and the resort golf course including the floating green is seasonal. Downtown restaurants, shops and hotels run year round. ⚠ CHECK THE IRONMAN COEUR D'ALENE DATE BEFORE BOOKING - the race closes roads across the city and fills every bed in it. Metered downtown parking is enforced. Winter brings the bald eagles to Wolf Lodge Bay and ice to the lakeside paths.
