Conner Prairie
Historic Site · Fishers, Indiana
A large outdoor living-history museum on the White River at Fishers, north of Indianapolis, built around the 1823 brick house of the trader William Conner. Costumed interpreters work an 1836 village, an 1859 civil-war-era settlement and a Lenape trading post, staying in period and in character rather than narrating. A tethered helium balloon carries visitors to about 350 feet over the grounds, and an indoor gallery building keeps the site working in bad weather.
13400 Allisonville Road, Fishers, Indiana, 46038, United States
Open daily in season, generally April to October, with reduced days and reduced site access in winter. The tethered balloon flies in suitable weather only. Headless Horseman in October and Symphony on the Prairie in summer are separately ticketed events.
