Conservatory of Flowers

Conservatory · San Francisco, California

The oldest wood-and-glass conservatory in North America, standing in Golden Gate Park since 1878 and holding roughly 1,750 plant species under Victorian glass. Five galleries run from lowland tropics to a highland cloud forest kept deliberately cold, and an aquatic room where giant Amazon lily pads grow wide enough to hold a small child.

Typically Tue-Sun 10 AM - 4:30 PM. Closed Mondays. Free first Tuesday.
