Coronado National Forest

National Forest · Tucson, Arizona

A forest of scattered sky islands in south-east Arizona — separate mountain ranges rising from the desert, where you can drive from saguaros to fir forest in an hour. It includes the Santa Catalina Mountains and the road up Mount Lemmon above Tucson, Sabino Canyon, Madera Canyon, one of the best birding spots in the United States, Mount Wrightson, Cave Creek Canyon in the Chiricahuas and the Pinaleño Mountains.
