Cox's Bazar Beach

Beach · Cox's Bazar, Chattogram

Roughly 120 unbroken kilometres of sand running down the Bay of Bengal from Cox's Bazar town to Teknaf, claimed as the world's longest natural sandy sea beach — a disputed superlative, but a genuine one either way — and the undisputed centre of Bangladeshi domestic tourism. Millions come every year for the sunsets, the beach life at Laboni, Sugandha and Kolatoli points, and the Marine Drive south past Himchhari and Inani. The beachfront is being actively re-planned as of 2026, with illegal dune shops cleared and coastal development rules under review.

Laboni Point, Sea Beach Road, Cox's Bazar, Chattogram, 4700, Bangladesh

The beach is open at all hours, free, year-round. Lifeguard cover at the main points operates in daylight only. Beach activity quietens during Ramadan daylight hours and explodes on Eid holidays; individual attractions in town keep their own hours.
