The Farthest Beach Is A Clothing Optional Area Signed As Such. The Trail Beyond The Beaches Leads Along Granite Shore Towards Pennant Point. · Sambro, Nova Scotia
Crystal Crescent Beach Provincial Park is a coastal park on the Chebucto Peninsula about 30 km south of Halifax, close to Sambro. It has three white-sand beaches separated by granite headlands, with clear Atlantic water that stays cold even in August. Beaches one and two are on the main side near the parking area, and are the busiest. Beach three is farther along the trail and is a clothing-optional area, signed as such, so families who prefer to avoid it can stop at the first two. A longer coastal barrens trail continues toward Pennant Point, a few kilometres of granite, low shrubs and sea views. It suits locals, day trippers from Halifax, walkers and photographers. Parking fills on hot weekends, so go early. Allow two to four hours. The Sambro lighthouse and Peggy's Cove are nearby, so confirm access and conditions before you plan a loop. The park is free to enter in most seasons, but confirm parking arrangements.

The park is open seasonally for day use, with the beaches and trails busiest from late spring to early autumn. Exact dates, any gate times and any lifeguard or parking supervision change by year, so confirm with the provincial parks listing before a hot weekend. Parking is limited and can fill by late morning in July and August, after which cars may be turned away or park along the road, where it is allowed. Out of season the trails remain walkable but services such as restrooms may be closed, and winter conditions can be icy and exposed. Use daylight hours and check the weather before you go, as wind and fog can change the feel of the coast quickly.
