Cultus Lake Provincial Park

A Warm Water Lake Park In The Mountains South Of Chilliwack With Sandy Beaches, Four Campgrounds, A Water Park And A Waterslide In The Village, Sailing, Paddleboarding And Forest Trails. The Fraser Valley'S Busiest Summer Beach Park, With Crowds On Hot Weekends · Cultus Lake, British Columbia

Cultus Lake Provincial Park wraps the shore of Cultus Lake, a deep, mountain-ringed lake about 15 km south of Chilliwack and roughly 100 km east of Vancouver in the Fraser Valley (confirm distances). By midsummer this is one of the warmest lakes in the region, and the park holds four campgrounds, sandy and pebbly beaches, boat launches and forest trails that climb into the hills above the water. The village at the north end is run separately from the provincial park and has the water park, waterslides, mini golf and food stands, so the lake mixes quiet campsites with a lively resort strip. Sailing, windsurfing, paddleboarding, wakeboarding and fishing share the water, and once the crowds thin in autumn the ridges show their first snow. Camping is reserved through BC Parks Discover Camping, often months ahead for summer weekends, and roads are busy on hot days (confirm all fees, dates and rules).

Cultus Lake is a summer park first, with the busiest services from about mid May to early September and the best swimming from late June to August. Day use follows daylight, and campers follow the check-in and check-out times set at booking (confirm). Some campgrounds run only in the warm season and others offer limited winter camping, so confirm dates with BC Parks before travelling. The village water park and food stands keep their own shorter season, and the road to the lake stays open all year, though the lake is quiet and cold from November to March.
