Curt Gowdy State Park
State Park · Cheyenne, Wyoming
A state park of pink granite, ponderosa pine and three small reservoirs in the hills between Cheyenne and Laramie, best known for its network of purpose-built mountain-bike singletrack, which draws riders from across the region. Hikers walk to Hidden Falls, anglers fish Granite and Crystal reservoirs, and campsites fill on summer weekends with families from Cheyenne and northern Colorado. It sits on WY 210, the Happy Jack Road, and is named after the sportscaster Curt Gowdy, who grew up in Wyoming. Its trails were built with the International Mountain Bicycling Association, and it also has an archery range, a visitor centre and Hynds Lodge, a historic lodge that groups can rent. The reservoirs supply water to Cheyenne.
