FREE and open at all times, year round — National Forest System land with no gate and no entrance fee. MUCH OF THIS FOREST IS UNDER WATER FOR PART OF THE YEAR: the green tree reservoirs are deliberately flooded from roughly late autumn to early spring, and the bottomland floods on its own besides. ROADS AND AREAS CLOSE SEASONALLY AND WITHOUT MUCH NOTICE. Check current conditions with the National Forests in Mississippi before travelling. Hunting seasons are set by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks and a state licence is required.
